The change we are trying to influence

  • Maximise the potential of early years settings to enable young children to be physically active and access good food
  • Maximise the potential of the school day to enable children and young people to be active, play sport, and access, experience and learn about good food
  • Build movement back into the working day
  • Cardiff Healthy and Sustainable Pre-school Scheme works with partners on joint training and resources to help settings promote healthy eating and physical activity, which supports phase 1 of the scheme. Training includes Active Tots (Cardiff Met Sport), Little Cooks (Public Health Dietetics) and QuickChange (C&VUHB).

  • By working with partners to look at how we can support schools to implement the new Welsh Network of Health and Wellbeing Promoting Schools national standards, we will enable schools to have a whole school approach to physical activity and food, and provide opportunities for good food and movement for all.
